Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is split into two parts because this is the last film. Harry Potter is a film about wizards who go to Hogwarts School to learn magic. If you have watched the other films you would know that in the 6th film Hogwarts closes because the person that owns Hogwarts dies. In the new film, Harry’s friends are trying to save Harry from the evil Voldimort who needs to kill Harry to survive. This film has lots of adventure and was exciting to watch.  Now everyone is waiting for the next film to come out.

Im a celebrity get me out of here

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here is an entertainment show on ITV1. It starts at 9.00 and finishes at 10.00. There are a number of celebrities that visit the jungle and have nights of terror! There are lots of different bush tucker trials and you have to collect stars to get food for your team. If you don’t get any they will only have beans and rice! But it’s not that easy! You will be joined by some jungle friends like beetles, crocodiles and spiders. This year Stacy Solomon won. I voted for her and she is now the Queen of the Jungle. The show will be on next year and I hope that you will watch it and enjoy it too.

DAILY ECHO VISIT

On Monday the 29th of November 2010 the whole of the Journalism Club went to visit the Daily Echo. At first we went into a big posh meeting room and we were given biscuits and orange juice while the editor Ian Murray talked to us about the different sections of the news such as sport, entertainment and weather. Then he showed us round the huge offices where hundreds of people work. We also got shown around the printing presses, which were enormous and a bit smelly! Lastly we got shown the old dark room where they used to develop photos. This isn’t need now we have digital photos. We had a fantastic time and we also had a picture taken that went in the news paper on the 30th of November. We had a really interesting time and I hope I can get a job as a journalist at the Daily Echo some day!

The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers are a great band of three who are all brothers with the last name Jonas. There is Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas. They also have a younger brother who is not in the band because he is only 10 years old and is called Frankie. They have a mum and a dad called Denise and Paul.  Paul is the band’s assistant manager. Joe plays guitar and keyboard/piano. He is the percussion leader of the group but he normally does the lead vocals in songs. Nick plays guitar (but not lead guitar), drums and piano/ keyboard. He does vocals too but normally backing vocals. Kevin plays lead guitar and also does mandolin, piano/keyboard and does backing vocals. They have done three tours: ‘Burning Up’, ‘When you look me in the eyes’ and ‘World Tour 2009’.  They have also joined Miley Cyrus on her Best of Both Worlds Tour.  They have made 4 albums, also Nick Jonas made a solo album called ‘Nicholas Jonas’.  The other albums are ‘Its about time’, ‘Jonas Brothers’, ‘A little bit longer’ and ‘Lines, vines and trying times’. They have also been in Camp Rock with Demi Lovato and the follow up movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. The Jonas Brothers are a great band and I’m sure you will like them too!

My Amazing trip to the wonderful Hawaii

When I went to Hawaii it was the greatest experience of my life! I went on the Island tour and we travelled in to the crater of the Diamond Head volcano on the Hawaiian Island Honolulu. One of the other great things that happened was getting a pen pal from Denver. It is really fun emailing her each weekend and I have found out loads about Denver. I wish I could go to Hawaii again but my memories are great and will always stay in my mind!!

THE LAST SONG

The Last Song is a film starring Miley Cyrus as Ronnie and Liam Hemsworth as Will. In the film Ronnie’s parents have split up and Ronnie and her brother visit their dad for the summer. While Ronnie is at the beach she meets a boy called Will and they start to be friends. She also meets a girl called Galadriel and they become quite good friends. Ronnie loves to play the piano and when she’s round Will’s house she shows him how good she is. Unfortunately in the film her dad gets really ill and Ronnie tries to look after him so he doesn’t die.
I really like this film, it is suitable for probably ages 8 and over you should definitely watch it.

Marly and Me

Marly and Me is a great but sad film all about a dog and a married couple. A few weeks after their wedding the couple buy a puppy and call him Marly. Marly has behaviour problems and the couple are having other problems because they have 3 other kids!

As the kids grow up Marly gets older, and eventually he has to go to the vet and tragically Marly dies. This is a lovely film and I think you should try it out!

Dear John

Dear John is a classic romance film which stars Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. It is about a girl whose dad is terribly ill. She finds her soul mate and they fall in love, but he becomes a soldier and fights in Afghanistan he might die too… It is such a good film and I love it sooo much because it has lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing. You should definitely watch it.

Roller Hockey

Every Saturday I go to a roller hockey club for two hours at Applemore Recreation Centre. Me and my brother both do it but my brother does it for four hours because he is in the cubs and the colts team! We have three different teams: the cubs team that I`m in, the colts team and the seniors. We don’t all train all at the same time because we all do different things in training.

In training we do pass the puck, which means you get in a circle and you pass the puck to someone in the circle. When you pass the puck you skate to the person that you passed it to without the person in the middle getting you. The reason that I love Roller Hockey is because it`s fun and you get to go to matches and you even get trophies for taking part!!!

Leona Lewis Fact File

Leona Louise Lewis was born on 3 April 1985. She is a British pop singer and song writer. Leona became famous during the third series of the British television series the X Factor, which she won.

Leona became a multi-platinum selling artist and three times Grammy Award nominee. She has released two albums to date, Spirit and Echo, in 2007 and 2009. Spirit became the fastest-selling debut album and the biggest seller of 2007 in both the United Kingdom and Ireland, and made Lewis the first British solo artist to top the US chart with a first album. It has sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide!

Lewis's debut single "A Moment like This" became the fastest selling UK single after being downloaded over 50,000 times within thirty minutes of its release. Her second single, "Bleeding Love", reached number one positions in over thirty countries around the world. In November 2008 she set a record in the UK for the fastest selling download-only release with her cover version of the Snow Patrol song "Run”. I personally think she is really great and I hope you will too.

The Cube

The Cube is an excellent show on Sunday night at 6:45pm which stars Philip Schofield. This is the second series and you can win a jaw dropping amount of money, up to £250,000! The players have nine lives to do seven tricky tasks.  You have a simplifier on the 1st round to use only once throughout the whole experience.  This means if the game is too hard you can simplify it to make the game easier. Also once you get onto the 2nd round you earn a Trial Run which means you can have a go at the game if you’re not that sure about it. I recommend this programme because it is an amazing show and maybe you can beat the cube next time!

swimming

Swimming is great fun. I learnt to swim at a club. I had to learn four different strokes, front crawl back crawl, breast stroke and butterfly. There are seven levels to complete at my club and after that you move on to life saving.  I am currently at level 6. Front crawl is the first one I learnt, then back crawl, breast stroke and last of all butterfly.  I would really recommend that everyone learns to swim because it makes you safer near water and it’s really enjoyable

Robbie Williams

Robert Peter Williams (Robbie Williams) is my favourite singer who was born on the 13th of February 1974. He grew up in Stoke On Trent with his Mum, Janet and older sister Sally, as his mum and dad split up when Robbie was only three. Robbie used to be in Take That at the age of 16 but quit in 1995 to become a solo artist. But just recently he joined Take That again shortly after he married his wife, Ayda Field, a Turkish actress. Currently Robbie is living in LA and having a great time there. His first hit single was 'Freedom' from George Michael which hit No.2 on the charts. His first top ten single was Freedom and his first solo album was 'Life Thru A Lens'. My favourite song by him is hard to choose but I think it might just have to be Angels.

Here are some random facts about Robbie:

He is 6'1.

His eye colour is green.

His star sign is Aquarius.

In 1988 Robbie played The Artful Dodger in his school production of Oliver.

Robbie failed ALL of his GCSEs as he was not very smart.

His favourite food is sushi and sashimi, toasted tuna and onion and salad cream sandwiches that his mum makes.

Before Robbie was a singer he was a salesman.

Robbie has loads of favourite artists and two of his favourites are Oasis and U2.

In his spare time Robbie like to play golf, spend time with his mum and sister, chill at home, Rollerblade, fish and play football.

Drake and Josh

Drake and Josh is on Nickelodeon and is about two stepbrothers called Drake and Josh who have an evil sister called Megan. Megan is always getting into mischief and being horrible to her brothers behind her mum and dads back but in front of them she always acts innocently. Drake and Josh always fight back but never win. They have some fantastic fun and I would say it’s really good and really funny.

Moshi Monsters

Hi everyone, the Moshi Monsters expert is here! If any of you don’t know about Moshi Monsters, they are GREAT and they have been advertised on TV. I’ve got all 6 monsters and its brill but hard work doing all the daily challenges. For you people who don’t know what a moshi monsters is here are some basic facts about it!

WHAT IS MOSHI MONSTERS?

Moshi Monsters is an interactive social networking game by Mindcandy that lets you choose a monster, choose your own colour for your new friend, raise it, and keep it content by feeding it and playing games with it. Playing games rewards the player with ‘rox’ (money as you know it) that can be used to purchase accessories for pets and furniture for their house. Players can visit other monsters houses, look at their items in their house and rate the house based on its over all appeal. Children up to the age of about 14 will enjoy the surreal , colourful world of the monster the most. They can make friends with other monster owners, chat over the forums and you have a pinboard of your own that only friends can talk to you on. You can even try to grow your own plants that will attract a pet for your monster buddy.

HOW DO PLAYERS SIGN UP?

Monster tamers should visit the moshi monsters website at www.moshimonsters.com New players start off by clicking ‘’play now’’ on the main page. They will be whisked to the monster adoption center, where they can pick their new friend. As I said I’ve got all 6 so you’ll be guessing there’s 6 monsters to choose from, including a poppet, a very sweet little bear, a luvli or some people call them cherries as they look like one, or a rabbit like one called a katsuma, a diavlo with a volcano head, and a furi which you could probably guess by the name is very furry. They are all completely different. Once you’ve chosen your monster you can choose its colours. Players then agree to play a brief set of rules, which encourage everyone to play safely. Then the monsters ‘’adoption papers’’ must be filled out. You can play for free, but if you want to be a full member you have to pay!

Jonas Brothers-Living the Dream

Chapter 2

The Jonas Brothers are amazing pop stars with thousands of hit singles, but their show ‘Jonas living the dream’ tells you about their behind the scene life with their little brother Frankie Jonas. This show shows how they live with all the fame and fortune. They say they’re very kind to their fans, which is true of course! The Jonas Brother’s have their own charity for each of their favourite causes. Nick Jonas, the youngest of the three is supporting diabetes, Joe the middle of the three is supporting wheelchair basket ball and the oldest Kevin Jonas is supporting cancer research funds. The show also tells you about their famous movie with Demi Lovato in Camp Rock 1 and 2. It’s a great show and I would really recommend it!

lemana cafe

Lemana is a café in Lymington run by my mum, my grandma, my 3 aunties, my uncle and some other people that previously worked there. They opened the café during the summer so it was quite busy. My mum likes a bit of a competition so me, my uncle (who isn’t working there) and my two cousins are not allowed to go to any other café apart from theirs - that’s including the Lymington Lounges!! It’s so unfair! At the moment my auntie’s carrot cake is the best selling.  When I am 13 I will be allowed to work there so I can’t wait!

Olden time recipes

Here are some of the odd recipes that they had in the 1800’s:

Gooseberry Pudding, 1859

Brown Onion Soup, 1859

Baked Almond Pudding, 1859

Stewed Celery, 1878

Stewed "Spinach," 1859

Marmalade Pudding, 1867

Oyster Gumbo, 1867

Veal-Cake, 1867

Fruit Biscuits, 1867

Not too long ago, newspapers were one of the only ready sources of fresh cooking inspiration for most people. While nearly every person probably had a treasured cookbook or two, people couldn't just search Yahoo or click over to Amazon’s Cookbooks whenever they needed a new idea!

That is why these recipes probably don’t appeal to you!

Remembrance Day

On the 11th day of the 11 month it is Remembrance Day. You can donate money for a poppy and think about every soldier who was killed during World War I, II and all the wars since. At 11 o’clock on 11/11which is this Thursday we will have silence for 2 minutes. Every shop and public place will also close and have 2 minutes silence. All the money that is donated goes to charity, the Royal British Legion. The money helps former soldiers, some who have been badly injured, and their families. The charity also employs soldiers that have been badly injured.

Southampton Common Cancer Research fun run

1,300 people descended to do the Cancer Research common fun run. I was inspired by this fun run because my aunty died of cancer a few years ago. People who did this fun run where amazing to help raise money for cancer research funds. Many people that ran this fun run did so because they know someone with cancer, they know someone who died of cancer or they have beaten cancer themselves. Many people, including Julie Godwin, ran for people she didn’t even know to help beat cancer The manger of this fun run Rachael White said the amount raised will not be known for a while but she does hope that their target which was £195,000 will be reached.

Cornwall

In the summer holidays I went to Cornwall to a little place called Hayle near St Ives.  I would highly recommend it. I stayed in an apartment right by the sand dunes which were at the back of  the beach. Every morning we went to the beach to let my dog have a run around and every evening we went down and did the same.  One evening we were lucky enough to catch the sun setting. On the day after we settled in we went into St Ives and it was excellent! We went on a train to get there and then we went to the beach and had a Cornish pasty and an ice cream. When we finished our walk around the town we went back to the apartment to watch a DVD. Monday was a lazy day but the following day we went to a cycle hire place where we hired four bikes. The whole family and the dog went on an 18 mile bike ride, but me and my mum only made 12 miles because it was very hilly. Although the next day we had very saw bums, instead of sitting around all day we decided to go pony trekking for an hour which was brilliant! I would highly recommend it because it was an excellent holiday and I would definitely go again!

Stormbreaker

Stormbreaker is an excellent film about a 14 year old schoolboy called Alex Rider.  His parents died when he was only little and he lives with his uncle, Ian Rider and his housekeeper Jack Starbright. His uncle tells Alex and the whole outside world that he is a boring old bank manager, and to Alex’s disappointment he is often away from home. One day whilst Ian is working away he supposedly dies in a car crash.  However, as Alex finds out later at his uncles funeral, Ian isn’t quite as he appears to be to everyone else.  I think this is a very great film and I would definitely recommend it!

Strictly Come Dancing!!

Strictly Come Dancing is an excellent TV show guaranteed to make you smile. It is on, on a Saturday Night at 6:00pm and the results show is on, on Sunday night at 7:30pm on BBC 1.

It starts with fourteen couples, each couple made up of a celebrity and a professional dancer, who dance in front of the judges and are scored based on their performance. The day after the show it has the results show to see which two couples are in the bottom two and which one will be sent home. This keeps going every week until it comes down the final three and end up with one winner who wins the Glitter Ball trophy.

It is an excellent show hosted by Tess Daly and Bruce Forsyth and I totally recommend it. So snuggle up on the couch in your PJs and watch Strictly Come Dancing!

JLS

JLS are a British boy band. JLS stands for Jack the Lad Swing. They were runners-up in the fifth series of the X factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke. The boy’s names are: Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill, and Oritsé Williams. Marvin was born in South-East London and started singing at the age of five. He attended a professional performance school 3 times a week as well as attending a regular school for his education. After finishing school, a chance meeting with Simon Webb gave Marvin the opportunity to hand over one of his demo tapes. Weeks later Marvin auditioned for Simon and was asked if he wanted to join VS (a group Simon Webb was putting together). JLS released their debut album on November 9th 2009. The album debuted at Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart, selling over 1 million copies. It was the sixth best selling album in the UK during 2009. Their debut single "Beat Again" went to number one on the UK Singles Chart on 19 July 2009. Their second single "Everybody in Love", released on 2 November 2009, also topped the UK Singles Chart.
I really think JLS are a really great group and I love catching up on their latest songs.

Dance

Dance is a really fun hobby and I want to encourage people to join in. I enjoy dance because you can do lots of different moves and you don’t need to be flexible to do them. I go to the unique club on Mondays, Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays. I have been dancing for 6 years because I started when I was 2. I have been to two different dance schools. One wasn’t very good but the one that I am at is a great dance school. You don’t have to be good at dance to enjoy it. If you are lucky you might even get to win loads of trophies!!!

Hannah Montana Forever

Hannah Montana Forever is a new series on the Disney Channel starring Miley Cyrus. It follows on from the well known series Hannah Montana, as Miley Stewart starts her senior year in High School. The show has really changed, for example her house has because she now lives on a ranch with a horse.  Her image has changed and so have her songs. This year there is a new character called Siena who plays Jackson’s girlfriend. This season is going to be awesome! I love it so far and I think you will too.

For this Christmas’ pantomime, The Mayflower theatre has got Paul O’Grady to play Ms Lily Savage in a final, rare and unique stage appearance in ALADDIN – A Wish Come True.

Lily plays one of the greatest dames in pantomime in the story of Widow Twankey and her son Aladdin – who inherit a laundry in old Peking. This quickly leads them towards a tale of adventure, mishap, love, comedy and magic carpet rides.

How To Be Indie

‘How to be Indie’ is a great funny comedy on Disney Channel. It is about a 13 year old girl called Indie who loves to have fun and be adventurous. Unfortunately it is very hard for her to do so with her very strict parents not allowing her to have fun and with her mean brother and sister. So watch ‘How to be Indie’ on Disney Channel to find out if she can make everyone happy and still have fun with her two best friends, Marlon and Abby.
