Bearded Dragons

Bearded dragon lizards are native to Australia. They live in rocky and hot countries oAnd are amazingly good climbers. Dragons have large triangular heads and flat bodies with pointed scales along the sides. They are omnivorous, which means eating both insects and plants.

Pet Bearded Dragon FactsBearded dragons make a great pet lizard. They don’t get too large, eat a wide variety of foods, are active during the day, and are gentle animals. Bearded dragons only are kept in zoos, have limited care requirements, readily available, and inexpensive. A bearded dragon can be a great addition to your family.
Well that’s all I can tell you for now but I will be back with more information so see you later!

Horses

Horses
There are lots of different types of horses around the world (they are mammals.)They come in all sorts of colours such as: brown, black and white.
There are many breeds of horses around such as: Domestic, Welsh Mountain and New Forest.
Riding
There are lots of different speeds that you can ride: walk, trot, canter and gallop. You can have riding lessons at many places around the forest (such as Pink Mead in Botley and Sims Cottage in New Milton.) Before you go out on your horse make sure it has been fed and watered.
Care
You have to clean out your horse’s stable twice a week. Horses have sawdust and hay in their stables. You will need to get the farrier out once a month to get your horses hoofs checked.
Food and Drink
You can feed your horses lots of different types of foods such as: mixes, cubes, hay and snacks. You need to check your horse’s food and water twice a day.
Shows
You can enter your horses in shows (which is really fun!) You can do dressage shows, jumping and many more! You can also do fancy dress where you and your horse get dressed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Horse riding is such a great hobby! Will you join?

Boy in Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne

This is a very moving book, I recommend it to Year 6 readers because of its adult content.
The main character is Bruno who one day comes home to find his father, a Nazi general and his German mother packing ready to move house because of his father’s promotion. When they arrive Bruno is shocked at the state of the house and misses home and having friends to play with. When he looks out of his bedroom window he is also shocked, as behind a huge fence at the bottom of his garden stands a concentration camp. When he makes an unlikely friend, considering his parentage, things start to go horribly wrong…
