Mamma Mia!

Donna is an independent Mother who owns a small hotel on a Greek Island. Donna is about to give away Sophie, her daughter, who is getting married. Sophie has secretly invited three guests who used to be Donna’s boyfriends without her mum knowing! One of them is Sophie’s Dad, but which one? Her mum is annoyed when she eventually finds out! Sophie hides them in the old goat house, so her Mum is furious, because she hid them without telling her. What will Donna do when she finds out about the secret guests?

Sophie’s mum and her best friends used to be in a band when they were a bit younger. Sophie’s Mum, Donna, has become a bit more mature in the years that have passed, but her friends have definitely not! The band play at the wedding, wearing their old costumes from the ‘70s. Will they still remember how to play?

I really recommend this film to people who like musicals, but even if you don’t it’s a great film because it’s funny and it’s got a great happy ending. If you like this film you would definitely like the Mamma Mia sing along. The words come up on the screen and everyone sings! The soundtrack is already out and the film is out on dvd now! I hope you enjoy this film!

High School Musical 3!

High School Musical 3 is the next film in the High School Musical series. This film is good because the acting, songs, and music are even better than the first two films, and the ending is interesting and looks amazing.

The main characters are Tiara Gold, Troy Bolton, Sharpay Evans, Ryan Evans, Chad Danforth and Gabriella Montez. In the film Basketball captain Troy Bolton is losing the final game in the championship by many points. He has the choice of letting in some other team mates. Will he make the right choices and win the game?

This film is incredibly popular all over the world because it’s an all-singing all-dancing hit!

High School Musical 2

High School Musical 2 is a great film with excellent humour and brilliant songs. This great Disney hit is suitable for all ages. The cast is amazing, they are all fantastic actors. It stars Zac Effron, Vanessa Hudgens ,Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel. This movie, like all the other High School films, is filmed in a real American school. I think this film is amazing because the songs are catchy and great to sing along to. The film has the nation standing on its feet because it’s so great! This film has inspired many kids to sing and dance, including me! I am starting to go to theatre school after Christmas.

Spiders!

Spiders are very scary but, they are very good as well, due to the fact that they kill flies and make silk. They are famous in programs and books like charlottes web and in a celebrity, get me out of here!
Their web is as strong as steel and their legs
are as long as a…something. Thanks for
Reading!

World War 2 Afternoon

On Monday 10th November, three grandparents who lived during the Second World War came to our school to talk and answer questions about their experiences. All of the children were interested to hear their points of view from the Second World War. One of them brought in some war posters and one other brought in a real gas mask!
Mr Crisp, Mr Park and Mrs Farman were asked these questions:

What was life like when the war ended?
How did you feel when war was declared?
Did you listen to Neville Chamberlain’s speech?
How were you treated by your host family?
What luxuries did you have that you didn’t have at home?
Where were you evacuated to and from?
Did your relatives come and visit you?
What did your family think of your new home?
Did your make any friends in your new school? How were you treated by the local children?

It was a very informative afternoon as we learnt lots of things about evacuation and what it was like for children during the war.
When you get to Year 6 at Orchard you will hopefully have a great experience like we did!
