Orchard Junior School Year 6 School Production

Coming up soon is the Year 6 School Production called ‘It’s a Kinda Magic’! It is based around going back in time from World War 2 until the modern day. In our production there is lots of drama, singing and dancing and we can’t wait to show you!

Unfortunately, we cannot tell you any thing else as it will ruin the surprise, so come along and enjoy the show!!

Big Time Rush

Big time rush (also know as BTR) are 4 very talented guys - Kendall Schmidt (brother of Kevin Schmidt who stars in Cheaper by the Dozen and Cheaper by the Dozen 2), Carlos Pena Jr. (who plays a small role as king bee in Nickelodeon’s ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide’), Logan Henderson (who is surprisingly good at beat-boxing and rapping) and James Maslow (who played a love interest to Carly and Sam in iCarly).

The show itself is about 4 hockey players from Minnesota. When James goes for an audition the guys end up auditioning as well. Gustavo Roucqe (the band’s manager/producer) and Kelly (Gustavo’s assistant) arrive in Minnesota to tell Kendall they want to make him famous but Kendall refuses unless they form a boy band. Now the Knight family -Kendall, his mum and his little sister Katie- live in the Palm Woods Hotel along with the new boy bond, Big Time Rush. A few stars such as Jordan Sparks guest star on this brilliant show.

Consequently I think you and your friends should watch the hilariously awesome programme, Big Time Rush!!!

Alex Pettyfer

Alex Pettyfer is a young actor that is one of the main characters in Beastly (a modern take on beauty and the beast), Wild Child, Storm Breaker and many more.

Modelling career

Alex started his modelling career when he was at a young age of 7 for gap after meeting Ralph Lauren in New York City. In 2008 he modelled for Burberry – Spring & Summer as well as The Beat for Men. In 2009 he modelled for the Burberry Spring & Summer once again.

Awards & Nominations

In 2007 Pettyfer was nominated for the Young Artists Awards and the Empire Awards which were both based on his role in Storm Breaker. He has also been nominated for the ShoWest Awards which he won. He was also nominated for The MTV Movie Awards.

Letters to Juliet

Letters to Juliet is all about a woman called Sophie who works for a magazine, and her fiancé Victor who is a chef and is obsessed with cooking. But unfortunately that becomes a problem because Sophie starts to think he cares more about food then her! Just for fun, Sophie and Victor decide to have a ‘pre-honeymoon’ so they go to Verona. As Victor is at a restaurant, the lonely Sophie decides to start answering some ‘letters to Juliet’, a special thing they do in Verona. After finding an old letter sent from a teenage girl called Claire 50 years ago about her boyfriend who she had broken up with but now lost, hidden in a crack of the wall, Sophie decides to send a letter back to Claire. The next day Sophie gets a visit from Claire’s grandson Charlie, who tells her that it was a very bad idea to have sent that letter as Claire has decided to find her one true love, Lorenzo. Sophie then decides to travel with them! After finding many Lorenzo’s, but none of them the right ones, will Claire ever find her true love? Letters to Juliet is an excellent film and I really recommend it.

House of Anubis

House of Anubis is a TV show about an American girl, Nina, who moves to England to go to a boarding school.

But as soon she arrives someone disappears!
Nina, Patricia, Fabien and Amber all start a club called Sibuna to try and find Joy the missing girl and Patricia’s best friend. But the evil caretaker Victor is trying to get in their way to stop them finding out where she is! Apparently Joy is the ‘Chosen One’ and they’re not aloud to contact her! It’s a great show and I love it because you want to find out what happens next. It’s on Nickelodeon week days and you should definitely watch it!!!

Magic Unicorns

Once upon a time there were two who were twins. The boy was called Snowstorm and his sister was called Snowflake.

Their mother was called Destiny. Their father was the leader of the Winter Storm herd and his name was Blizzard.





One day Snowstorm went up to his father and said, “ Father what’s wrong?” He stood with big staring eyes waiting for an answer. “Its almost spring I can smell it 200km away! The spring stallions are on their way.”



Before Snowstorm could say one more word to his father his mother Destiny trotted into the magical room in their secret Cloud Castle up in the sky. Their mother finally stopped trotting and gracefully said , “ Knight storm would like to play with you…… but where is Snowflake ?”

“I don’t know, I thought she was baking muffins with you,” replied Snowstorm.

“No, she finished an hour ago. I thought she was meant to go to the park with Thunder,” said Destiny. She looked worried, “I might never see my baby again!” Destiny knew the sound of the Spring Stallions meant trouble. Had her daughter been captured by the stallions? Destiny wept. Snowstorm stayed silent in embarrassment at his mother’s tears, but Blizzard spoke proudly, “Don’t worry my love, we will find her, and you know she can do karate!” Destiny looked at her husband with a tearful look in her eyes.

Snowstorm acted quickly. The Winter soldiers were ordered to find Princess Snowflake and bring her home. The soldiers searched near and far, following the stallions, until, on the second day of searching they found her and took her back to Cloud Castle where she now truly belonged.

The world’s loudest purring cat!

Smokey is a cat with an extremely loud purr. Smokey’s purr is as loud as a lawnmower! Imagine having that noise on your lap and listening to the radio or watching TV! The Guinness World Record association agree that Smokey’s purr is in fact the loudest purr in the world. It’s so loud that the next door neighbour can hear it!
