We were lucky enough to have two people from Marchwood Power Station to talk to us about our solar panels, which we have been given, and how they work.
They were called Jane and Richard Holman and they were talking about power. Our panels cost £22,000; we were given £11,000 from the govement and £11,000 from Marchwood Power Station. All four of our solar panels can generate four kilowatts each so that’s sixteen kilowatts altogether.
Jane and Richard gave our school a circuit kit; instead of batteries we got mini solar panels. They also gave us a poster showing how solar panels work.
Our solar panels help pay the bills and reduce carbon emissions; we have a box in the library that shows how much power is being produced per day, and altogether.
